Douglas Emmett Inc. Renews Executive Contracts

Three executives at Douglas Emmett Inc. have received renewed 5-year employment agreements. The Los Angeles-based real estate trust’s chief executive officer, chief operations officer and chief investment officer all received generous contracts extending their employment until 2023 even though the company pays many of its skilled engineers minimum wage to live in one of the country’s most expensive cities.

DE Quarterly Dividend

On 6 December 2018, Douglas Emmett Inc. announced that its Board of Directors had declared a quarterly cash dividend on each share of its common stock of $0.26, or $1.04 on an annualized basis. The dividend will be paid on January 15, 2019, to shareholders of record as of December 31, 2018. This represents a 4% increase over the company’s prior 2018 quarterly dividend of $0.25....

Douglas Emmett Execs Earned 200 Times More Than Rank-and-File Worker

In April 2017, Douglas Emmett submitted its “Proxy” (14A) filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), announcing its annual shareholders meeting.
For publicly traded companies such as Douglas Emmett (NYSE: DEI), Proxy statements address issues that will be brought up for vote during the shareholders meeting, including the election of company directors. The statement must also disclose “executives’ and directors’ compensation, including salaries, bonuses, equity awards and any deferred compensation.”
